Beach House Church started in 2020 with a small group of people and the support of New Life Churches NZ . Towards the end of 2021, as a church community, we felt a clear direction from the Holy Spirit to move in obedience and continue to meet regularly in different houses. During this season a team of mature leaders provided pastoral care alongside AJ and Sanel, in accordance with each person's gifting and biblical function.
AJ and Sanel travel between groups to teach and encourage each of the house churches. God raised up leaders, as well as others who were willing to host fellowship in their homes. The spiritual growth in this season is remarkable, with close-knit friendships forming, notably maturing faith and a love for another, as disciples.
We felt led by this scripture in Acts 2:46-47 (TPT) “Daily they met together in the temple courts and in one another’s homes to celebrate communion. They shared meals together with joyful hearts and tender humility. They were continually filled with praises to God, enjoying the favour of all the people. And the Lord kept adding to their number daily to those who were coming to life".
We believe that God is directing us to continue to follow in this biblical pattern of meeting together in houses AS WELL AS a monthly combined celebration to worship together as a larger group.
We are excited as we journey through this season with the Lord. We see more people being truly impacted by the message of Jesus, believers walking in their spiritual gifting, growing in their faith, being supported and encouraged in smaller family groups to BE the CHURCH – the ‘ecclesia’ or "called out" ones sharing this message of hope with others around them.
Our Roots
The Beach House family is a member of the New Life Churches of NZ. Our heart is that you can belong before you believe. We welcome anyone who wants to know more to come along and see what we are about. Jesus invited us “Come follow me....” and this is our guide as we follow Him. Living by the example He sets in His Word and being led by the Holy Spirit.
We are excited to see the transformative equipping power of the Gospel in action. We seek to manifest the glory of God during our Sunday gatherings - through worship and teaching the living Word in a biblical context. We believe in growing people, having fun together and sharing in the joy that Christ our Saviour gives us.

To follow Jesus is to see the Kingdom of God be established on earth.
People need to be introduced to Jesus, He is pre-eminent in all we do. To know Him, to hear Him and follow where He leads.
Jesus makes this statement to us in the present tense. He is alive today and as believers, we have a living relationship with God, where we follow the leading of His Spirit every day.
To follow and do what Jesus did, making disciples and loving the unsaved. As His people we want to always measure what we do by our love for one another.

Beach House Church is a Jesus-loving family, made up of smaller families who meet in groups of 8-15 people on a Sunday or during the week. At present we have groups in Mt. Maunganui, Bayfair, Papamoa and Te Puke. For more information on times and venues please contact us, we would love to talk and then direct you to a local group in your area.
On the first Sunday of the month you can find us at 10am in Papamoa Sport and Recreation Centre (PSRC) located in the Gordon Spratt Reserve (Alice Lane, Papamoa). At this time the smaller churches get together and we have a worship celebration including food and fellowship - feel free to join us on these Sundays.
Team leadership has developed as the Holy Spirit added to our community. We believe in the priesthood of all believers and as God raises people up to walk in his calling and gifting, they have the opportunity to help in different leadership capacities. These giftings grow in small house church and leader-specific groups.
Below are some more information on the current house church leaders.
AJ and Sanél lead the team. They and their daughers immigrated to New Zealand from South Africa in 2005. As a family, they have been involved in many capacities in the Body of Christ over the years. In 2020 AJ and Sanél felt God's calling to extend the reach of their ministry. They were sent to Papamoa with the support of the New Life NZ group. They are both employed in the disability health sector, alongside their ministry function in serving this local Body. They carry apostolic, prophetic and teaching gifts.
Kelvin and Roxy has served in many areas of Christian ministry over the years. They bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team.
Ken and Glenise, carry a heart for the nations and have done mission work in Nepal and India. They teach and love with biblical excellence.
Ron and Marcelle, prophetic pastoral teachers, who have a love for people and an emphasis to see them mature in their walk with Jesus. They relocated to the Bay from Auckland in 2021.
